Did Graduation and Orthopaedic specialization in Nursing from the prestigious institution, Armed Forces Medical College Pune.
Acquired additional qualifications as
-PG in Hospital Administration
-PG in Medico - Legal System from symbiosis Pune and
-Masters in public personal management from Osmania university during her career in the army.
Col Anu Served Army in different parts of the country for 29 years in both clinical and teaching field and was exposed to Kargil operations. For her exemplary service in battle causality and Trauma care management in Military Hospital, Srinagar during Operations Parakram , she was bestowed with the award of Army Commanders Commendation Card.
After taking Voluntary retirement, now settled at Kochi. She is a fitness enthusiast and enjoys running Marathons. She had podium finish in most of the marathons she participated, latest being the spice coast marathon where she ran 42.2 km and finished as first runner up in the age category.
She is involved in community development by working with other organizations and tries to give back to the society in the ways she can.
Col Anu is married to Col Shaji Varghese, another army veteran, presently MD of a Kerala govt PSU known as KEL. They have a son pursuing his graduation.
